You send us your pickup and we send it back to you full of sparkle and life! You get tighter lows, and wonderfully complex harmonics. It’s bright and musical!

We remove the bar magnet from under the stock coils and replace the steel pole screws with our
custom length alnico II plain magnets. The magnets are set in a subtle stagger to produce an even,
balanced sound. We completely re-assemble the pickup and wax pot it to prevent squeal.

MOD1 sounds best with the stock 250k pots that are already in your guitar! This mod also works
particularly well in a Telecaster Custom® because the output is only 8k so it balances well with the single coil bridge pickup and both use 250k pots. Just drop the pickup in and start playing!

MOD1 is bright. We recommend setting the treble side of the pickup lower than the bass side for a warmer tone.

We press our custom length alnico V magnets into our own custom made bobbins. The magnet ends are finished like screw heads. Our own custom made Delrin® bobbins get hand wound to vintage spec and re-assembled into the Fender® chrome cover. It looks identical to the original. Like the original, this mod sounds best with 1 meg pots.

The sound is stellar and as evidenced on our Testimonials Page, many agree that this pickup mod captures the essence of the 70′s vintage original.

DO NOT attempt to turn or adjust the magnets in the Mod 2 pickup. They do not turn or adjust like our CuNiFe repros.
